Moving Tips from A “Sharp” Moving Company
________1. Disconnect all electrical items- computers, stereos, TV’s, etc. We can do this for you.
________2. Disconnect all water connections. We choose not disconnect or reconnect washer, dryer or refrigerator hoses because of the liability involved. However, we can do this for you if you sign our waiver releasing us from all liability.
________3. Disassemble bed frames. We can do this for you.
________4. Disassemble mirrors from dressers. We can do this for you.
________5. Pack all loose items. All items need to be in a box. This protects your belongings from damages during the move.
________6. Describe contents of each box and label each box with the appropriate room name.
________7. If we are moving your furniture to more than one location, it will help if you can label each item with the location name or use color stickers to distinguish the difference in locations.
________8. Make a list of all existing furniture damages and give to the crew the day of the move.
________9. Move all of your live plants, lawnmowers, and other items containing gasoline, oil, propane, or diesel. We can do this for you; however, there will be a charge for an additional trailer.
________10. Notify neighbors of your move date in case they might need to move his/her vehicles.
________11. Provide us with an alternate phone number in case your phone is disconnected the day of the move.
________12. You may leave things that are not breakable (clothes, linens, etc.) in your dresser drawers. However, please use your best judgment on how much you leave in the drawers, especially if it is an exceptionally heavy piece or there are stairs involved.
________13. Place hanging clothes in wardrobe boxes. ________14. Remove light bulbs from lamps and place lamp shades in a box and label “TOP LOAD ONLY” and “LAMP SHADES”.
________15. Pictures and Wall Hangings should be placed in a picture box; however, if you do not have a lot the crew can wrap them in moving blankets and secure them for transport.
